I went to West Point. I played lacrosse. I commissioned as an Army artillery officer and deployed twice to Afghanistan. When I came home I did what most people do after the military. I followed the next step that seemed logical. Got a job. Became an ROTC instructor.
I was good at it. I cared about the cadets. But something was building underneath. A slow, growing disdain for waiting. For permission. For the idea that my time, my income, and my future were all in someone else's hands.
During COVID I was told that my job could absolutely not be done remotely. Two weeks later I was doing it remotely. Six months later we were still remote. Every cadet graduated on time. The thing that was impossible turned out to be completely fine.
That moment crystallized something I had been feeling for years. The system is not designed for your freedom. It is designed for your compliance. And the only way out is to build your own way out.
I got out. I built a real estate portfolio. I built a hospitality company and sold it. I started School of Grit on Veterans Day 2023 because I wanted to give the next generation the blueprint nobody handed me.
My life paralleled Robert Kiyosaki's in ways I did not expect. He went to Kings Point, commissioned into the Marines, deployed to Vietnam, got out, and built the Rich Dad Company. I went to West Point, commissioned into the Army, deployed to Afghanistan, got out, and built School of Grit. We were both committed to the same thing. Helping the next generation become financially literate and free.
My parents were teachers. Good people. Good lives. But the world they navigated no longer exists. A pension, a steady job, and a 401k do not work the same way anymore. The economy changed. The rules changed. Most people just have not been told yet.

14-Day Guarantee
- The window. Day 1 is the calendar day after your payment, Central time. The window closes at 11:59 pm Central on Day 14.
- How to claim. Use the refund form or email corey@schoolofgrit.co from the address you enrolled with, inside the window. You'll get a timestamped acknowledgement.
- What comes back. Everything you paid, less a flat $50 book cost if your audiobooks have already been released to you, to the payment method you used. Haven't claimed your books yet? The full amount. Paperbacks don't ship until the window closes, so they never affect a 14-day refund. Klarna orders are refunded through Klarna.
- One per person. If you've taken a refund on Line of Departure before, a second enrollment isn't covered.
- Chargebacks. If you dispute the charge with your bank or Klarna instead of asking us, the dispute process replaces this guarantee.
- If the failure is ours — the emails didn't arrive, the books didn't ship — the clock stops until we've fixed it.
- Books. Audiobooks are released on enrollment. Paperbacks ship after the 14-day window closes.
Finisher's Guarantee
- What it is.Finish the work and the program costs you the price of three books. This isn't a satisfaction guarantee — you don't have to be unhappy to claim it. Do the work, file the claim, get the refund.
- What counts as finished. Turn in Indoc and at least 9 of the 11 weekly briefs before you claim. Two sentences each, through the turn-in link under every brief. We check that they exist, not how good they are. There's no weekly deadline — late is fine.
- When. Claim between day 90 and day 120 after your payment.
- How to claim. Use the claim form or email corey@schoolofgrit.co from the address you enrolled with.
- What comes back. Everything you paid less the flat $50 book cost, to your original payment method. The books stay yours. Klarna orders are refunded through Klarna.
- Our answer.In writing within five business days. If it's a no, we name the missing week and you get one chance to turn it in and claim again. If our answer lands too late for you to cure it inside the window, you get the refund.
